What this set is for
The Forneau® Discovery Set is designed to help you get started with pure titanium cookware, with no PFAS and no coating. It’s a practical choice if you want to try a uncoated frying pan in everyday cooking, learn the right technique, and see the difference in cooking and cleaning—without replacing all your pots and pans at once.
Titanium is bare metal: it can pick up surface marks over time, but nothing flakes and nothing migrates from a coating, because there isn’t one.
Everyday use (key habits)
For consistent results, focus on temperature control.
- Preheating: start on a medium heat for 1 to 3 minutes, then adjust.
- Fat: add a little oil or a knob of butter once the surface is hot, especially for delicate foods.
- Cooking: let food sear before turning; avoid thermal shock.
Suitable for all hobs, including induction. Depending on the items in the set, oven use may be possible (check for any non-metal parts).
Cleaning
Wash in hot water with a non-abrasive sponge. If you see marks (polymerised fat, deposits), soak then clean with bicarbonate of soda. Dishwasher use is generally possible, but hand washing helps preserve the surface appearance. For more detail: uncoated pan guide and PFAS guide.

What exactly is included in the Discovery Set?
It brings together a selection of Forneau® pure titanium items. The exact contents are those shown on the product page at the time of purchase (they may change between batches).
Is it induction-compatible?
Yes, it works on all hob types, including induction. On induction, increase power gradually to avoid localised overheating.
Is it really PFAS-free and uncoated?
Yes: pure titanium, no PFAS, no PTFE/PFOA, and no non-stick coating. Performance mainly depends on preheating and using a little fat. Details and sources on our Facts & evidence page.
Does titanium scratch?
It can pick up surface marks (from utensils or stacking). These marks remain superficial; as there is no coating, nothing flakes.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, the set is covered by a Forneau® lifetime warranty under the brand’s terms.
