Nonstick coating / Teflon
The worst type of surface. Teflon releases toxic PFAS chemicals ("forever chemicals") linked to cancer and liver damage. The coating can chip over time and doesn’t hold up to high heat.

PFAS are "forever chemicals" used to make products more durable. They are widespread in our environment and linked to cancer, hormone disruption and other health risks.
Results reflect laboratory analysis of the samples submitted at the time of testing. They do not guarantee future performance. Labelling and regulatory compliance remain the brand's responsibility.
The worst type of surface. Teflon releases toxic PFAS chemicals ("forever chemicals") linked to cancer and liver damage. The coating can chip over time and doesn’t hold up to high heat.
Requires a lot of oil to keep food from sticking, and reacts with acidic foods, changing the flavor. Hard to clean and high maintenance.
Very fragile coatings: once chipped, they expose a toxic aluminum base. Rarely last more than 1–2 years. Expensive to replace and unreliable long term.
Extremely heavy and high maintenance: cast iron rusts easily without regular seasoning and doesn’t handle acidic foods well, which can damage the surface.
Rusts easily, requires constant seasoning, and reacts with acidic foods. Not nonstick, not easy to maintain. Simply not worth it for everyday cooking.
Unlike competitors who use cheap and toxic alloys, at Forneau® we use only the purest material for your safety. Every product is made from Grade 1 Titanium (laboratory-certified at 99.98%) — the purest available form, also known as medical-grade titanium. It also complies with food contact standards.
Your safety is guaranteed with Forneau
The Forneau® Everyday Duo is a 6-piece pure titanium cookware set (Grade 1), designed for everyday cooking with no PFAS and no coating. It suits anyone looking to switch to non toxic cookware that’s built for real use (searing, simmering, reheating) without relying on a non-stick layer.
For consistent results, bring the pan up to temperature gradually. Preheat for 1 to 3 minutes over a medium heat, then add your cooking fat and ingredients. Let the sear form before turning: proteins release naturally once the surface is hot enough. Then adjust the heat up or down depending on the recipe.
Titanium can show surface marking over time (use traces, fine micro-scratches). These marks remain superficial and don’t affect performance, because there is no coating that could chip or peel.
Suitable for all hobs, including induction. Dishwasher safe, though hand-washing with a sponge helps preserve the original look. If you see marks, soak in hot water then clean with a non-abrasive sponge. For more on PFAS free cookware, see our guide.
What are the 6 pieces included?
This set includes 6 pieces in pure titanium. The exact sizes and any accessories are listed in the “Contents” section on the product page.
Is it induction compatible?
Yes, the set works on all hobs, including induction.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes. To reduce surface marking over time, hand-washing with a soft sponge is recommended.
Does titanium scratch?
Titanium may show surface marking with use. These marks remain superficial and, with no coating, nothing flakes and nothing migrates.
What warranty is included?
The set is covered by a lifetime warranty, according to the brand’s terms.

Since I retired, I’ve been the one cooking at home. Honestly, I wish I’d discovered this frying pan earlier. It heats up quickly, food hardly sticks at all, and now it’s the only one we use
Gérard P.
The removable handle system is genuinely super practical. My three frying pans stack perfectly and take up barely more space than a single one. When you’ve got a small kitchen like mine, it really is a game-changer.

First meal tested with my new frying pan and honestly, a very pleasant surprise. I was worried the chicken would stick since there’s no coating, but not at all. And when it came to cleaning, just a few minutes was enough. Very happy with my purchase.

I’ve been using my Maison Forneau frying pans almost every day for several years now and they’re still in great condition. Despite heavy use, they’ve held up really well and I’ve noticed virtually no scratches. A purchase I’d make again without hesitation.
Catherine H.
I cook every day for the whole family, and more than anything I was looking for something sturdy and easy to care for. After several weeks of use I’m really satisfied. It heats well, nothing sticks when you follow the advice, and cleanup is very quick. I really don’t regret my purchase.
Sophie B.
I’ve been a chef for over 25 years, so I’m naturally pretty demanding when it comes to equipment. I wanted to try titanium out of curiosity and I was honestly surprised. The pan heats up quickly, the sear is excellent and, above all, it’s very enjoyable to cook with. Even at home, I ended up setting my old pans aside.

PFAS-free certified
Every generation passes down knowledge. Ours is an uncompromising standard at the table. At Forneau, our chef embodies this tradition — hands trained to respect fire, metal, and what goes onto the plate. Titanium isn’t a marketing choice. It’s the only material worthy of this cuisine.
People think it’s “just a pan”…
But it’s the tool you touch every day in the kitchen. It changes everything.
A good pan changes everything. Just look at that sear!!

From toxin and bacteria risks to burdensome maintenance, these “outdated” kitchen materials are simply no longer up to standard.
The worst pan coating out there. Teflon and most non-stick coatings release PFAS, the so-called “forever chemicals” linked to cancer and liver damage. The coating flakes over time, can’t handle high heat, and exposes your food to toxins.
Requires a lot of oil to keep food from sticking, and can react with acidic foods — which can change the taste and may release metals in low-quality pans. Hard to clean and high-maintenance.
Ceramic coatings are very fragile. Once they chip, they expose the toxic aluminum base. Most only last 1 to 2 years before losing their nonstick performance. Expensive to replace and unreliable long term.
Extremely heavy and high-maintenance. Cast iron rusts easily without regular seasoning and doesn’t tolerate acidic foods, which can damage the surface and affect flavor.
Contains BPA and other harmful chemical compounds that can leach into your food with every knife cut. A direct risk to your hormones, gut microbiome, and brain.
Not hygienic. Wood is porous: it absorbs raw juices and moisture. Knife marks trap bacteria, making proper sterilization nearly impossible. Mold and contamination are almost inevitable over time. Wood also absorbs odors and stains easily.
Same risks as solid wood, but worse: these boards are made from small blocks glued together with industrial adhesive that can contain formaldehyde, a carcinogenic compound. Not just unhygienic — genuinely dangerous.
These materials are extremely hard and dull your knives very quickly. They’re heavy to handle and impractical for everyday use.
Plastic spatulas have a very low melting point and can release toxic compounds with every use. Serious health risks: digestive imbalances, hormonal disruption, cancer.
Even high-end silicone breaks down over time with heat and can release toxic compounds. Many silicone spatulas sold online or in stores contain harmful fillers such as BPA and phthalates, which can become toxic during cooking.
Not hygienic. Wood lets bacteria settle into grooves and cracks, even invisible ones, which can contaminate your food over time. It also absorbs odors and stains easily.
Most are made from low-grade alloys that can release heavy metals like chromium and nickel into your food when heated. They’re also heavy and can damage the surface of your cookware.
Rusts easily, requires constant seasoning, and reacts with acidic foods like tomatoes, peppers, or lemon — damaging the surface and altering the taste. Not non-stick, not low-maintenance, and clearly not built to last.
The worst possible water bottle. Even “BPA-free” models release hormone-disrupting compounds, especially when exposed to heat. Moisture around the mouthpiece creates an ideal environment for bacteria and mold growth.
Solid, but stainless steel is not antibacterial like titanium. Bacteria from your mouth can grow inside it. Frequent cleaning is essential: studies show 87% of these bottles contain harmful bacteria such as E. coli.
Aluminum water bottles are typically coated with synthetic linings to prevent the metal from reacting with the liquid. These coatings break down and release chemical compounds into your water. Like others, they also promote the growth of bacteria and fungi.
Glass does not release chemicals, but it offers no antibacterial protection. Bacteria from your mouth still multiply on it. It’s also fragile: it breaks easily and is impractical for everyday use.
