Facts & Evidence — what we claim, and what we don't claim

This page gathers, without adjectives, what we can claim about Forneau cookware and what we cannot claim. It is updated with every new test.

The material

• Pure grade 1 titanium (commercially pure titanium, the purest grade under the ASTM B265 standard), with no aluminum or vanadium alloy.
• No coating: no PTFE (Teflon), no PFAS/PFOA, no ceramic, no paint. The cooking surface is the metal itself.
• Titanium is the metal used for surgical implants because it is inert and biocompatible.
• Titanium can scratch. Scratches from utensils are cosmetic: there is no layer to break through, and the bare metal releases nothing more.

The tests

• PFAS analysis conducted by the SGS laboratory (ISO 17025 accredited) — latest tests: October 2026. Result: substance below measurable levels.
• Results reflect the samples submitted at the time of testing; they do not constitute a guarantee of future performance.

Use

• Compatible with induction, gas, ceramic glass, electric.
• An uncoated pan requires a technique: preheat, then add fat. Non-stick performance comes from heat, not from a coating.
• The cutting board is non-porous and dishwasher-safe.
