Which pan should you choose for health?
A pan with no applied coating: pure titanium, stainless steel or cast iron. A bare metal cannot break down into particles, because there is nothing to break down. The trade-off is that you have to preheat properly, otherwise food sticks.
What is the difference between a titanium pan and a “titanium” pan?
“Titanium” most often refers to a non-stick coating reinforced with titanium particles, applied over aluminium. A pure titanium pan is made of the metal itself, with no applied layer. The two products have nothing in common.
Does a titanium pan work on induction?
Yes, if the base is designed for it, with a ferromagnetic disc. Titanium on its own is not magnetic: it is the construction of the base that makes a pan induction-compatible.
Do titanium or stainless steel pans need seasoning?
No. Seasoning applies to cast iron and carbon steel, which rust. With titanium and stainless steel, everything comes down to preheating, not to a layer of polymerised oil.
Pure titanium pans, with no coating
One metal only, no applied layer, lifetime guarantee. 20, 24 or 28 cm, induction and dishwasher safe.
