Fact-checked: composition and sources on our Facts & evidence page.

It is one of the questions we are asked most often, and one of the worst handled online. Here is a clear answer, including about what we do not make ourselves.

The essentials in 30 seconds

  • France does not produce raw titanium. No brand can claim otherwise.
  • "Made in France" refers to the last substantial transformation, not the whole chain.
  • Our pieces are designed in France and manufactured by specialised partner workshops.
  • We do not claim the label, because it would not be accurate.

Raw titanium does not come from France

Let us start at the beginning of the chain. Titanium is mined as ilmenite or rutile, mainly in Australia, South Africa, Canada and China. It is then turned into titanium sponge through the Kroll process, and then into sheet.

France does not produce raw titanium. No brand, whatever its marketing, can claim otherwise.

What "Made in France" means on a piece of cookware

The label is governed by the Union Customs Code. A product may carry French origin if the last substantial transformation took place there. Depending on the product, that can mean the full pressing, or only the final assembly and polishing.

The nuance is real: two pans carrying the same label can have very different industrial journeys.

Our position

Our pieces are designed in France: the drawing, the thicknesses, the geometry of the base, the choice of titanium grade and the quality specifications are all defined by our team.

Manufacturing is entrusted to partner workshops that specialise in working titanium. It is a difficult metal to press, requiring specific tooling and know-how concentrated among a small number of manufacturers worldwide.

So we do not claim the "Made in France" label, because it would not be accurate. We would rather say so.

What we commit to

  • Grade 1 pure titanium, no coating, no PFAS, no nickel.
  • Lifetime warranty on every piece, with no time limit.
  • Customer service based in France, reachable by email, reply within one business day.
  • Piece-by-piece quality control before shipping.

The three questions to ask any brand

  1. What grade is the titanium? Grade 1 is the purest and most ductile. A brand that cannot answer does not control its supply chain.
  2. Is there a coating? If so, which one, and what does it contain? A bare metal does not need that answer.
  3. What exactly does the warranty cover? A lifetime warranty against warping is not worth the same as a warranty limited to the coating.

Frequently asked questions

Are there titanium pans made in France?

French workshops do work titanium, mostly for aerospace and medical uses. For cookware, the pressing tooling is concentrated elsewhere.

Is a product designed in France lower in quality?

Quality comes from the specifications, the grade of the metal and the inspection, not from the country where it is pressed.

How can I check the titanium grade?

Ask customer service in writing. A serious brand replies with the grade and the thickness.
